  I would add “Socorday”.

  Socorday is a word (which I think I made up) that is a derivative of the the transliteration of the Latin word Socordia, which is the Latin name for the Greek goddess of Inactivity, Aergia (Ἀεργία). From Greek Mythology, she is the personification of sloth and laziness. She is said to guard the court of Hypnos (the personification of sleep).

  You can imagine what this day would be dedicated to.

  I was going to call mine Funday and it’d be between Saturday and Sunday. So I could get all the typical weekend crap done (buying food, laundry, car repairs, etc) and still have two days to do fun things.

  Also, the name was inspired by the Bangles’ Manic Monday.

  @Stace… good one. I’d like an extra Bangles-inspire day for fun.

  Really, if I could go to the longer M-TH and start my weekend on Friday, I think I’d be golden. Friday morning would then be dedicated to getting all of my responsible stuff done, and then I would happy hour with the working stiffs early afternoon, and through the weekend.

  A month is roughly 30 days give or take a few hours. The year is 365 days, give or take a few hours. The number 7 is not a common denominator of 30 and 365. However, 5 is, but it is too small a number: not enough time to get things done at work and not enough days to enjoy a weekend. So, I think 10 day work week is optimal: 6 days of work, 4 days of weekend. That gives us 5 days extra from 365, which can be the 5 days between christmas and new years.

  The 4 additional days of the week will be used for the weekend and be named:
  - marsday
  - venusday
  - neptuneday
  - plutoday

  … carrying the tradition of naming the days after gods and celestial entities.
