I wish old-timey manufacturing jobs and careers were still around. One grandfather was a bricklayer, the other worked in a Kaiser steel shipyard. I kinda think they'd be disappointed in today's choices.

I also move the silverware with these new california restaurants put the spoon on the wrong side or confuse the salad fork with a dinner fork.

I am old-timey and new-timey. Unlike Beth, I love Skype because I have friends in Europe of whom, though loved dearly, I am to cheap to call on my phone. I love google docs and quicken, and having computers at my fancy gym. However, my old-timeyness completely wins out in general, especially at this time of the year. I send snail-mail thank you cards. I bake my family and dear friends cakes, the occasional pumpkin bread, and, at Christmas, McFarland Shortbread. I have more oldtimey music on my itunes than anything recent. I like cocktail evenings, dresses, and upswept hair. I also have a closet full of large hats from many English weddings, and several ballgowns. Speaking of.... I'm available for weddings, charity galas, and opera dates.

haha @ jason. that is hella trad. I am old-fashioned about family dealings, love , values and not discussing money or income with friends and acquaintances, (it is rude). I prefer sending a handwritten note over emailing someone and I refuse to Skype. I bring my lunch to work in a plain brown paper sack.
