Doom metal from the late 70's early 80's, like Pentagram, Saint Vitus, and later bands like Sleep and Electric Wizard. I am loving the shit out of that stuff right now.

Also, I missed out on cooking for myself for the first 33 years or so, until I found out that it's a pretty cool thing to do. Along those same lines would be engaging in regular exercise.

I have always listened to music way older than me, but I feel that sometimes a new song will come out and I'll hear it and be like "What IS that?! " And Beth or someone will tell me that the song has been out for years, and perhaps I should climb out of my itunes rock and listen to new music.
This also happens with literature. I spent so many of my formative and collegiate years reading fine literature, that I have read very very little from this century, and even less from the last two decades.
Someone tried to give me Eat, Pray, Love at the worst possible time in my life and I wanted to throw it in a fire and ask about what happened to all the good writers. Right now I've stumbled upon a book that everyone has read about 9 years ago, by Mr.Dave Eggers, and it is amazing. I feel like I really missed out on this, or perhaps it is coming to me at the right time. We'll see.
