My friend, Ashoke, and I were just discussing sleep methods the other day. We both deemed that having sex and passing out was definitely the best way to fall asleep, but because neither one of us had got any action in a bit we came up with: yoga (child’s pose especially), alcohol, and falling asleep with your laptop in bed watching TV episodes.
Lately I have been reading before bed which is lovely but then makes a bad association where I start to fall asleep while reading other times. This has resulted in two accidental long naps on my roof in the sunshine just in the last week.

*I like yoga as well – or any gentle, nighttime stretches and reflection of the day.
*No alcohol after 9:30ish – the sugars wake me up.
    *Crossword puzzles.

Fan on, white noise machine (set to ocean), Bath and Body works sleep spray (whatever the pink label one is), The Golden Girls (down really low), and a Lunesta and half a Tylenol Simply Sleep. Sometimes I replace the Tylenol with one Benedryl if my allergies are bad.

And sometimes a perscribed muscle relaxer if my jaw is hurting.

I sound like a druggie, ha. I’m working on getting back off the Tylenol though. I don’t want a stronger Lunesta perscription.

I am fortunate that I fall asleep pretty easily. If I’m by myself I like to sleep with music on. I have lately had trouble waking up in the middle of the night and not going back to sleep. I believe the medical term for this is “the booze wore off and now you are jacked up on alcohols sugars”, to this end my Dr gave me AMbien cr they work all right but I don’t want to get too into them so I usually just deal with being awake for an hour or two in the middle of the night.

man, this is so on topic with what i was talking about with some buds just tonight, because i had such a hard time falling asleep last night, which never usually happens. i asked if valerian root helped, because i read that it might, and one bud said yes, and the other bud said no. someone gave me a drink called DRANK http://www.drankbeverage.com/ the other day, and that company claims their beverage “slows your roll” I found that it slowed my roll a bit, but also that i was just drinking grape soda before bed.

@dav wow…Drank has got to be the best worst most ridiculous name for a beverage that I’ve heard of in a while.
