How physically fit are you, and is this something you really care about?
BONUS: How often do you exercise, and what type of exercise do you do?

My question:
In a world where, in the primaries for the defacto “good” party, it comes down to a woman, a black, and a fucking white, why is it that, increasingly, the FW seems like the only reasonable choice? Racism? Sexism? Robotism? What?

On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being Gilbert Grape’s mom and 10 being the P90x guy, I think I am about a 7. As fit as say, maybe Jake Gyllenhaal, but not as fit as Obama. I run or ride my bike every few days, and do calisthenics every so often too. It’s important to keep up with that stuff in your thirties, because things can go south real quick and when i say things i mean titties

I am in much better shape now than at other times in my life. Even though I look like I’m made of play-doh, I look like i was chiseled from granite compared to how I looked five or ten years ago but that has more to do with how I eat now (fish, vegetables, no dairy) compared to how I ate then (funyuns, whoppers) than it has to do with exercise. I run a few times a week and ride my bike daily, sometimes I go on long bike rides up into the headlands. This is something I care about because if I am immobile or ride around in cars or ride buses for a long time I get really unhappy.
I’m on the verge of joining a gym to take boxing classes but all the ones in my neighborhood are “boxing for pregnant women” “yoga boxing” etc.

Was this question meant to guilt trip me into actually going to the gym tonight? Fine!
I’m 5′8” and am 110 pounds. And as much as people tell me I’m “skinny” I never agree. I don’t think I’m “fat” but there are areas that can be toned. I’ve always been this way I guess. When I was 10 I was 60 pounds and my whole family always tried to fatten me up by feeding me everything.
I might be “skinny” but I’m not fit. I have side cramps and get short of breath after a couple of minutes of fast walking. I have a 3 day gym routine where the first day consists of strictly cardio and the last two are split between cardio and body sculpting exercises. I think I’ll resume that schedule tonight.

5 is average fit. I don’t really care per say, but I want to try and beat genetics.
I go to the gym 3-5 times a week (right now more like 3). I try to do about 90 minutes of cardio (usually stairmaster/eliptical) . After the gym I have some dumbells at home I use to do arm and ‘core’ exercises with a few times a week. I don’t do much with my legs since they’re usually pretty good after the stairmaster.
I’d like to look into some sort of class again. I’ve started to miss dance and karate classes but I don’t know if I’m ready for that.

I’m not fit at all. I’m really bad about exercise and eating and what not. Really it is quite a surprise I am not a total melty fatass. I gained a bunch of weight since being preggers- more than I am supposed to. After I give birth I plan to take up running and prolly lift weights as well. I don’t want to be a fat ass mom.

I used to be really fit. Tap dancing on tables, showgirl fit. (But of course, I didn’t know it and now I’d love to look half that great again). It was cool though because I was 19 and didn’t have to try. Trying is hard.
Ten years later, it has hit me – I really have to start trying. I just love beer and bread way too much for my own good. So, I am thinking of picking up some redic yogilates-kickbox-gymnastics classes in addition to the dance classes that I just decided that I will begin tomorrow night.
This vs question rocks. I love motivation!

I got sick for a month and it totally screwed up my work out schedule. I would rate myself a 5. I’m not overweight, but I have squishy parts. I too am going to start working out again tonight. I used to do an hour of cardio 3-5 times a week, and used hand weights and a yoga ball for crunches and stuff. I feel like a gross roly poly right now, but my self-esteem usually improves after only a week of exercising. I’m pretty sure I’m the fattest vegan ever.

I’d say I’m pretty healthy right now and look fit but I’m not 100% to where I want to be.
I’ve been training for the SF Marathon since mid-May and I haven’t lost any weight but my body has definitely changed.
I care about my weight and fitness. I’m naturally pretty thin and lanky so when my metabolism slowed with age and I gained any weight it was noticeable.
Bonus: Last week I ran the marathon so I built up to running 20 miles a day. But now I’ve slacked off. Today is going to be the first day after the race that I’ve run again. I have to keep my results up and get better.
