annual State Budget Impasse. As Homie Steinberg says here – we have got to get rid of this danged 2/3 requirement. My boss has been shaking the trees on Indian Health funding for quite some time now and I guess it is pretty much out of our hands for the year. FYI, the state is eligible for a 100% reimbursement from the Feds on medical costs paid for Native folks, but has never set up a mechanism to collect that (forgoing billions of dollars over the last 20+ years) Now CA is pulling the plug on services…for federal pass-through money that would only be a bonus for the state in that keeping our clinic open makes it available for Indians and non-Indians alike. Nose removed, face spited.

I love that now I have everything in order I can’t go to CSU in Jan because they’ve canceled enrollment for Winter/Spring 2010.
