This week’s episode is centered around a handful of generalizations that I make about girls, aka “women.” Phil plays along as I go through a list of things that I think girls like, including: a film, a pop singer, a precious gem, a comic book character and a grouping of cartoon characters. He tries to avoid agreeing with many of my generalizations, but concedes one or two of them. He also adds one of his own, regarding the reading habits of women versus men.
I think we avoid sexism for the most part, probably because we’re not sexist.
It wouldn’t be A Very Serious Conversation, of course, if we didn’t veer off into tangential discussions. The entries this time include Charles Schultz’s Peanuts, the guy who invented Wonder Woman & the lie detector test, things that cowboys like (according to Waylon & Willie) and Poochie from “The Simpsons“.

Impressive start and great editing! Excellent music choices, as usual!
My comments, as a woman:
1) For the record, I did not like The Notebook – I found it to be boring and very trite in parts.
2) I only like Katy Perry’s quirky outfits. (Thanks to Zooey Deschanel’s stylist.)
3) I just like sparkling things – not necessarily diamonds.
4) Yes on Gambit. But only in X-men, the Animated Series (which “is considered to be one of the most faithful animated series based on a comic book” – Wiki).
5) Fiction is OK, but autobios./memoirs are more interesting to me (depending on the person).
6) You know my feelings about Disney’s Princesses. BTW, Belle married a prince, thus becoming a princess. And real life “princesses” need to get a real life.
Good job, guys. Happy Birthday, Jake!

OMG, I love the Powerpuff Girls. I could go into detail of the depths of my obsession, but I would embarrass myself and look bad in the end. I will only say that I have signed merchandise.
I HATE Katy Perry. She is the poor mans version of Zooey Deschanel.
I am not into Gambit.
Disney is releasing a new animated hand-drawn movie this year. It is called the Princess and the Frog, and it stars Princess Tiana, the first Disney African American Princess.

YAY for Princess Tiana and YAY for the PPG’s!! Somehow, I missed the part when the menfolk were talking about those adorable little ladies.

@Steven I think so too! But without Jake there wouldn’t be any podcasts, cause I’m too lazy to edit and post them.

I read Message in a Bottle, which made me loathe Nicholas Sparks and so I refuse to watch The Notebook. His stories make me want to vomit.

girls love to tell everyone how much they love the rain. it’s been raining in la for the past few days and i’ve heard “i love the rain” from several girls. interestingly enough, guys just say, “i think its gonna rain” or “it’s raining”. i think rain could be safely added to the things girls like list along with iced tea.

i love iced tea.
i only like to hear the rain on a roof, under which I am safe and warm. maybe girls in LA like the rain because it is a rarity for them.

I have a beef with Disney about the Princess Series. I believe the first and only Princess with a title as Princess before getting married to a prince was Princess Jasmine. But PJ is never in any of the pencil cases or watches or stickers, etc… of the Princess Series. The other girls who are featured aren’t real princesses (other than Belle and I think another one), they just put them on the shit bc they’re popular, which isn’t fair. It’s not very democratic or American for that matter. Tink is even in the Princess Series and she’s just a fucking fairy but it’s all the chicks favorites and some even have a tattoo of her on their lower back. That’s my generalization about women.
You guys didn’t even mention lower back tattoos.
