I brought a radio to work and hope that I will hear some real talk.

I watched the inauguration at work, in one of the offices upstairs. I didn’t start “working” until just right now – which is an hour later than usual.
Also, a co-worker brought in some delicious breakfast foods for everyone and I was shouted at by a bus driver, which is quite extraordinary – they usually are very nice to me.
Both the b-fast goodies and the verbal confrontation are different from my average Tuesday.

1. I got up an hour earlier than usual to watch the inauguration speech. Anyone who knows my love of sleep can appreciate that this is a serious show of patriotism.
2. I have to go set up a projector and screen so that all of my coworkers can watch the rebroadcast at noon while we all eat free pizza.
3. I have a new blog to read now. This went up one minute after the swearing in.

My day was the same as normal tuesdays except I kept trying to get myself caught up in the “OMG my world is totally changed now” feeling it seemed like we were supposed to have.
When that didn’t work I spent some time trying to fake it when I talked to anyone on the subject.
I then spent more time than I normally do dwelling on what an average/average-bad president JFK was.
I did feel some glimmer of hope at the end of the day when I listed to Obama’s speech which was a good one.
I guess “the ground has shifted beneath [me]” or some glassy-eyed crap like that.
