Let’s say that the federal government passes a law that certain people, because of their contributions to American society, will be considered living monuments. They’ll no longer have to pay taxes of any kind, don’t need licenses for anything and in fact can commit all but the most serious of crimes without fear of punishment. You, the junior Senator from your state, are chosen to head the committee that will choose the first living monuments. Who do you endorse?

I’m ditching my family early on Thanksgiving because a friend of mine will be in town, and he doesn’t want to be alone on a holiday. As far as gifts go, I’m going to be a bit creative. I think I’m going to create custom artwork for everyone and frame them. I spent a lot more than I should have last year, and I don’t even remember what I bought. I love the holidays, but they’re bittersweet for me since my mom passed away.

For the weekend before Thanksgiving, I will be in Oakland/Berkeley/Marin. For Thanksgiving I will be in Los Angeles. For Christmas, I will be in Virginia.
Presents for all of my friends’ kids before Thanksgiving. Presents for the whole family at Christmas. That’s how I do.

i don’t know about “plans” but my family kind of always follows the usual traditions, which i think is nice. So hanging out at home with parents and my brothers.
This year i actually find myself in a good financial position this time around. I plan on trying to be extra generous with presents… in part cuz last year i was saving for a trip overseas and had no money to spend on presents…

I am fleeing town for Thanksgiving to see extended family; some of whom I’ve not seen in quite some time. And yes, I am excited for X-mas and will give gifts; but I anticipate that they will not all be things that can be purchased at a store. I like to make things.

I am moving back to the land of the free and brave ( and of the most beautiful women, the best TV, the best food, the best weather, the best clothes and the best everything…), then I’ll go skiing in Austria right after the holidays.
My wife and I will not give each other anything but we’ll give our son the usual amount of gifts.
