How has the current economic situation affected your understanding of world economics?

    It has completely baffled me.
    Partially because I feel that if we’re going to act all socialist here, I’d like some effing govt healthcare.
    Mostly because I think its amazing that the US economy could tank so badly… have the govt bail it out… and then boost the dollars worth, while many of the countries where their banks were more cautious with lending are finding their currency dropping in value because of the US. Twisted.
    Oh, and lastly, when I heard about the part of the bailout plan that included some sort of benefits for children’s wooden arrow manufacturers (to get Oregon to sign on to the package, because the state is home to the top three companies that do this)… I was like, “Who is giving their children wooden arrows for toys? And is there a strong enough demand to need 3 companies? And how much of Oregons economy is based on toy arrows?”
