This is from the Faces of Death series, which comprised about 60% of the curriculum in the Ukiah High Video Productions class (the other 40% of the coursework was smoking weed in the rear editing suite). What’s amazing to me is that they actually caught all of this on tape. Also, note how jam-packed the theatre is, and also how eerily fitting the piano music fits what would ultimately occur on that fateful day.

I can’t believe that video stores used to carry faces of death. Friday should always be fake snuff film day here.

Guys…don’t fret. It was a hoax! The magician didn’t really die, they found a hobo body double and tricked him into the studio with a can o’ beans and some new shoes. Faces of Death is totally fake!

it almost makes me want to re-watch some of that series. it held such a mystique based on the premise that it showed actual deaths caught on film. while i have absolutely no desire to watch the real thing, i might look at that just to dispel any subconscious mystique it might still hold.
